Take either one - they both go the same
place. Very quickly as the road turns left you will see a dirt road
come in on your right - ignore it and stay on the main road. About a
half mile or so from the parking lot another dirt road comes in on
your right. Notice the "no motor vehicle sign" attached to a metal
stake on the road.
You will be returning this way as you
complete the loop so make a mental note of the steep descent to the
main trail. After another half mile or so |

you will see another road on the right
identified as trail #208 (sign on a metal stake) continue on the
main trail to mine ruins (large metal shed etc.) and up the hill to
a metal gate and a "no trespassing" sign.
Here you will be at about 12,225' or
almost 700' above the parking lot. Enjoy the views of Mt. Lincoln
and turn back from the gate (SCE Does not recommend continuing on
posted property) and you will see trail 208 ascend up a ridge and
along a path that will loop back to the main trail as noted
previously.
Go back and ascend trail 208 and if
you stay just to the right of the highest ridge on the knoll you
will pick up the main road about a half mile from the parking lot.

Cairns and a faint path
mark the way until you begin your descent to complete the loop. Pick
up a Summit County topo map at Webster's Book store in Breckenridge
and you will enjoy identifying Alma, Goose Pasture tarn, and other
landmarks as you enjoy the fabulous vistas afforded by this hike.
